Gabriel F. Dambaugh, P.E. holds two degrees in Mechanical Engineering and has been in the industry since 1988 with over 25 years of engineering and analysis experience. He gained 15 years experience in the manufacture, design, testing, and failure forensics of precision machined components for the automotive industry. This included the development of modern analytical optimization and nonlinear analysis with Finite Element Methods.
While Gabe has worked with the variety of FEA technologies as listed on the services page, some of his unique specialties include using FEA with nonlinear and time-dependent mechanical systems. He has presented on the subject of fatigue assessment to the Finite Element community and holds a US patent for rolling bearing design optimization with FEA. Gabe has recently spent over 10 years consulting in the aerospace field with NASA and Boeing on manned flight launch vehicle component analysis including nonlinear FEA with composite honeycomb structures, buckling and post-buckling analysis and fracture issues.
